¾ of Chamrousse commune is located in a protected natural heritage and environment,
and is listed in the Natura 2000 area and ZNIEFF.
A biotope protection decree preserves fauna and flora on the Arselle peat-bog, in order to prevent the disappearing of protected species on 44 hectares.
Lac Achard, arrival of a very nice outing on snowshoes, is also a listed site. Preservation areas for the Lyrurus tetrix, known as the black grouse, are identified in the resort. Information boards allow you to get to know the mountain fauna.
The resort signed the ANMSM chart together with Mountain Riders, committing itself to pay a particular attention to sustainable development so that our mountain remains beautiful and clean. This way, we keep an eye on recycling and on the organization of an annual collecting day at the end of the winter season.
